Adult Care

Healthy teeth can be moved at almost any age. Many orthodontic problems can be corrected as easily and as well for adults as children. Orthodontic forces move the teeth in the same way for both a 75-year-old adult and a 12-year-old child. However, adults are not growing and may have experienced some breakdown or loss of their teeth and bone that supports the teeth. Orthodontic treatment may then be only a part of the patient's overall treatment plan. Close coordination may be required between the orthodontist, oral surgeon, periodontist, endodontist and family dentist to assure that a complicated adult orthodontic problem is managed well and complements all other areas of the patient's treatment needs.

One in five orthodontic patients is an adult. The AAO estimates that nearly 1,000,000 adults in the United States and Canada are receiving treatment from an orthodontist. Please contact our office if you have any questions or wish to schedule an examination appointment.

Youth Care

Good Dental Health Starts Early
All kids should get an orthodontic check-up no later than age 7. When most people think of orthodontics, they think of teenagers. And the fact is, most orthodontic treatment begins between the ages of 9 and 14. Early detection is very important because the earlier a problem is found the easier it is to correct.

Typical early treatment involves the use of orthodontic appliances, which may be removable, to guide the growth of young bones and create a better environment for adult teeth as they erupt.

Early treatment gives your orthodontist the chance to:
  • Guide jaw growth
  • Lower the risk of trauma to protruded front teeth
  • Correct harmful oral habits
  • Improve appearance and self-esteem
  • Guide permanent teeth into a more favorable position
  • Improve the way lips meet

An Affordable Investment With a Lifetime of Benefits

In addition to improving oral health, orthodontic treatment can provide the confidence and self-esteem that comes with a healthy, attractive smile for years to come. Please inquire about our payment options. Dollar for dollar, when you consider the lifetime benefits of orthodontic treatment, it is truly a great value.
